Well, triplet potty training is going well. We are potty trained at home. They are even going to poopy in the potty consistently now. The problem is that they RESUE to tell us when they need to go. That is GREAT when the girls are at home, but not so great when we are out.
The reason we headed out after school when I just wanted to rest and hang out with the girls is all because of a STUPID ALARM CLOCK!
Alyssa can now here her daddy's alarm clock when it goes off. Now I have a REAL PET-PEEVE with Frank and it's the alarm clock. I don't need an alarm clock to get up! I just tell myself that I am getting up at 5:30 and about 15 to 20 minutes before 5:30 I wake up! I do set an alarm just encase, but I also GET UP when it goes off! I may every now and then hit snooze, but its one time and I am usually up before if goes off. I also hit the ground running. I don't need time to figure out where I am or shake off the sleep glaze. Once I'm up; I'm up!
So I can't understand, Why anyone FEELS the need to set their alarm almost 2 HOURS before they have to get up? It is beyond me! (and don't give me that crap about how that's the best sleep after you hit snooze! You are breaking you REM sleep, so you are NOT getting better rest! You are depriving yourself long term sleep.) Instead you are being awaken up every 15 minutes for TWO whole hours, and that means that I am getting woken up EVERY 15 minutes for TWO whole hours.
Example: Last night, Frank set his alarm for 3:30 am. It went off and ALYSSA woke up! I got her (because Frank was still able to sleep like a rock!) Every time, I almost had her asleep the thing would go off again! At 5:15, my clock goes off. I get up and head to the shower after telling Frank he's got to deal with Alyssa, and he gets CRANKY about it! I mean come on! I'm the one whose been dealing with her, because of YOUR alarm clock!
Its crazy and it has to stop. And since in almost 12 years of marriage, I haven't been able to stop this, I figure trying to change him isn't gonna work, so I decided to change ALYSSA or at least make a darn good effort, which is what lead us to Walmart in PANTIES! April uses an ocean soundtrack to keep her kiddos from hearing them moving around the house. So I decided to give it a try.
We loaded up after Ms. Felicia came over. (DID I FORGET TO MENTION THAT ALYSSA HAS BEEN DISMISSED FROM SPEECH TODAY? Ms. Colleen decided that Alyssa was caught up to her age group and she is. So no more speech! In fact, Alyssa is now our best talker. Although when she starts talking to me at 3:30 in the morning, I often question why I put her in speech! I was hoping to get her discharged for OT, but the therapist wants to work with her a little bit longer, so we will until the end of September and then be done!). The girls did great and we quickly found a sound machine that plays the ocean sound. Surprisingly, Alyssa announced that she needed to potty, so Nana took her and they had success in the potty. Then, we looked at toys and then headed to the garden center to see if they still had any of the small Terra cotta pots left for the girls' birthday. Unfortunately, they didn't, so I've got find them somewhere else. As we were walking out, Isabelle started looking like she needed to pee, so I ran her across the front of the store with her and convinced the wal-mart worker (male) cleaning the restroom to let us in. AND THEN SHE DID NOT PEE!!!
Well, Nana gave the girls a bottle of water and by the time I got with Issy, we loaded them up. In the 5 minutes it took to drive home. Makenna peed in her carseat. She never told me she needed to potty AT ALL! And as soon as we walked into the house. Alyssa peed on the floor! FRUSTRATING MUCH! Well after dinner and bath, we had naked run around the house time and they all peed about 10 times in the potty and Alyssa even pooped! WHY?!?!?!?!?!?
So that's the progress. Hopefully, we can get them to start telling us, so I can get them out of the house! This is the worse part of potty training!
