Nana and I have been watching the end of summer sales like crazy for one and one thing only!!!! And Yesterday, we found it! A HUGE waterslide and we got it for 75% off! Today we set it up and set the girls loose! It has to be the best money that we've ever spent! They LOVE IT. Although I'm sure that we are gonna end up paying the 75% we saved in water bills in the next few months!

Swimming with Momma and Nana

Here's the latest video of the girls swimming (especially for Mr. Adam ). The pool was FREEZING so they were very cold. That is why they were floating so much, but they still continue to swim beautifully! I am so proud. Alyssa jumped of the diving board again. And again she belly flopped. Anyone have a way to teach her to jump feet first into the water?

Back from the beach...

So we spent the last week in Fort Walton at the Waterscapes condos hanging out and trying to keep Alyssa from swimming to Cuba every time we went to the ocean.  I have to say that this was the BEST Vacation I have EVER taken with the girls.  Usually vacations are stressful.   You are in an unbabyproofed area, you worry about them screaming their heads off and keeping the people in the next condo up, you worry about keeping them entertained, getting them to sleep, etc, etc, etc.

This vacation the only baby proofing issue was the toilet paper roll (which they managed to unroll a few times a day) and the ladder to the bunk bed.  We were on the ground floor and the patio opened onto the courtyard lawn, which freaked me out when we first got there, because how would I control them, but it was WONDERFUL!!!!  They had an entire lawn to play one. We could see our room from the splash pool!  I want to stay on that level everytime, because it was SO nice to have a place for them to play.  And the swimming lessons paid for themselves in this one trip!  There was no worry about them in the pool.  They would jump in and swim to me, or if I wasn't ready for them.  They would turn around a swim back to the wall!  It was AMAZING!!!!

The girls LOVED the ocean.  Isabelle was our most hesitant and usually wanted to be carried into the waves.  Makenna wanted you to be near her in the ocean.  And ALYSSA was just crazy!  She want to DO IT herself.  If you tried to hold her hand or pick her up, she would tell you "NO!" and try to walk out even more.  She did not care if it was OVER her head!!!!

Heading to the beach on day one!

Isabelle hitting the ocean!

Here's the personalities in the water...Sandra (and can't you see how much her running is changing her body?  She is definitely getting that runner's look now!) and Is (who doesn't want to be put down.)  Makenna is with Nana and she wants Nana by her.  Alyssa and I are heading out to sea and Alyssa is mad that I won't put her down, even though the water is OVER her head!

The girls in the splash pool!  Which actually became dangerous, because the girls want to dive into two feet of water.  We spent most of our time in the deep end of the big pools!

Alyssa swimming to me in the ocean!

Issy (I think) sliding down the slide!

The girls also enjoyed playing in the sand!

And with the pinwheels Poppa got them.

Running around on the beach!

And did I mention how much the liked to fly the kites!  They were crazy about the kites.  They would take the strings and let the kites out as far as they would go and just laugh!  It was too funny!

Poppa built the girls a sandcastle (and yes, my dad did take some reeds from the dunes!  He apparently did not know that it was illegal!)  It took the girls two minutes to destroy it!

We buried Aunt Sandra in the sand!

And Is (again I think).  I really wish you could see Alyssa's face here!  She is VERY concerned that we are doing to her sister.  She did not like it AT ALL!  She kept trying to dig her out!

Aunt Jean and the girls (and me being insane suncreen momma!  Don't you LOVE Makenna's Hat?)

We did two photo shots, but until I have my computer back, I can't down load them, so hopefully, I'll have them later this week!

Oh and did I mention the girls graduated from Swimming Lessons?  Here they are with Mrs. Gina, the girls, and their trophies!

We will be doing another week of lessons this week to make sure I did not screw them up while in Florida, so here's hoping tomorrow goes well!

What a day!!!

The day started off great.

At 3am, Alyssa, who had conned mommy  into letting her into her bed, by having a complete fit because of the thunder storm, fell out of the bed, which is about 3.5 feet off the ground.  Luckily she was sleeping upside down in the bed, so she missed the steps that allow the girls to get into bed with daddy when he sleeps in.  She was fine just a little freaked out!

We got up that morning and headed to swim lessons.  The girls had to swim in their full clothing: Pants, long sleeve shirts, socks and shoes, and a jacket.  Makenna, of course, freaked out!  Isabelle did great until Mrs. Gina did the flip into the pool to simulate a fall and Issy FREAKED OUT!

Alyssa, however, did AMAZING!!! She did all the floating and swimming passes needed.  She then did the flip without a problem (and declaring it FUN as she floated on the surface.)  Mrs. Gina put a towel over her face and she removed it without an issue.  So she officially graduated from swimming lessons.  She will continue to go through Tuesday and then for a few days when we get back from the beach!  But it is just to keep her skills improving.

After that, we went home, and I ran a few errands.  When I got home, I was getting ready to leave with Makenna and Issy (Alyssa is spending the night with Nana and Poppa because our replacement crib tent hasn't arrived yet.)  We were fixing to walk out the door when my cell phone rang.  The call was from our local school district where I have worked off and on for almost 7 years.  The job I had interviewed for in June was mine.  I go to sign my contract Monday afternoon!  I am so excited, but a bit nervous to be leaving the classroom.  I just can't believe I got the job!  I will be a KEYS team specialist, which is about all I know about the job, because it is a brand new position and the county hasn't figured out exactly how the position will work.  Its crazy, but a load off my mine, and now I can get to planning our beach trip for next week!

Overall its been a GREAT day!

SHOUT IT FROM THE MOUNTIAN TOPS!!!!

Who would have guesses at week two, the girls would have gone from this...

To this in less than two full weeks...

The girls getting ready to swim.  We are no longer fussing about entering the pool. In fact, we are playing around outside of the pool!

And now Is and Alyssa Swimming....Makenna was not filmed, because she is still fussing and momma needs to be able to focus on her (but she is must better than she was).  Hopefully, on Friday, I'll be able to post a video of her swimming without any screaming!

I can't express how happy I am with these lessons! Everyone should put their kids in these lessons.  Both Is and Alyssa have stepped into the pool without Mrs. Gina being ready and they have both done exactly what they are supposed to do!
